"55" kicked my tail

Hey gang!

It is 12:09 AM, and here I am, goofing off, when I should be asleep.   I was reflecting on my summer and thinking how it went downhill after my 55th birthday.  I had a reaction to medicine in June.   I had a severe allergic reaction to poison ivy in July, which took a month to recover.  And I had another allergic reaction, which gave me another month long rash, through the month of August!   Of course, acid reflux was still around through the ordeals.  

The good news is that Mike and I had a wonderful, enjoyable trip to Austin for our 35th wedding anniversary!   It took place between two crazy health issues.  Lol.  

This summer's "adventures" have definitely made me much more aware and appreciative of feeling well in body, mind and spirit.  And...I now understand, a little better, why older people say, "It's hell to get old!".

what a crazy life!

     It seems I am always saying, "this was a busy week!".  Then I realize I say that every week.  At least they have been fun, busy weeks.  
     I was able to visit with my kids and little granddaughter, who I had not seen in 4 months!   I enjoyed a birthday dinner and a birthday party for my now 4 year old granddaughter.  I visited with friends and family, while eating wonderful birthday cake!
     I even had almost all of my kids in one place, at the same time!

Really, I write this blog for myself.   I'm not sure if anyone else is very interested.

I'm back....

It's been a while.  If I could write on this blog immediately after I drop off my granddaughter, it would have alot of posts.  That is when I am the most thoughtful and emotional.  You see, it makes me profoundly sad to have to leave Annabelle at the babysitter's house.  I guess it has to do with the fact that I am not able to stay home and babysit her.  I am also sad that My daughter can't stay home with her.  Annabelle is usually happy to go to the babysitter's house, once we get there.  It is the time that we have to leave the house and leave her toys that is hard. 
 
Still, I cherish the time that I get to spend with my daughter and granddaughter in the morning.  I know that I won't get to have this special time forever.  It will probably change for the next school year.  So, for now, I am trying to enjoy these little pockets of time with that cutie pie!  I really like seeing my daughter every morning, too. I'm trying to just enjoy each moment.  More soon!!!

Where has a year gone?

Mine is definitely a busy life!  I can't believe that a whole year has passed, and then some!  I now have three of my kids graduated from college.  Whew!  It was a very eventful year, some good, some not so good.  That is life! 

It seems my joints are more sore these days.  I have gained weight during this year.  Ughhhh!

I am enjoying my grand daughter every chance I get.  She is so much fun, we never know what she is going to say.  ;)

Somehow, Mike gets better looking with time, IMHO.  lol  We enjoy our time together, alone, or with the kids. 

It feels like things are shifting and slowly changing around me.  I am trying to enjoy the here and now, and not panic about the later.

Mostly, don't panic....
